ABOUT
What is Parkinson?
Parkinson is a common neurological disorder that is thought to affect more than 4 million (sources say 6-10) people world-wide.
Parkinson is a progressive disorder that is life altering, but not life threatening. Recent advances in medications and surgery mean that doctors and patients now have better control over the condition than before.
Not everyone will experience exactly the same Parkinson symptoms at the same time. The disease can affect everyone very differently and in some cases, it may be many years before there is any disability or significant limitation of daily activities.
Your doctor will recommend a particular treatment depending on specific symptoms. Not everyone will receive the same medications, and in the very early stages of the disease you may well not need any medication at all.
